Tooth Implants – Process and Benefits

Dental treatment has become a must for millions of people worldwide. Despite advancements and advances in dental care and health, people are afflicted by dental decay and gum disease. In the past bridges and dentures were the most common choices for those suffering from missing, broken or when teeth need to be surgically removed.

Modern day dental treatments include Tooth Implants that are replacement teeth roots. Implants can support up to three artificial teeth. It is an implant made of titanium that is implanted into the jawbone and replaces the tooth root that is damaged or has failed. Implants provide a solid base, or base, upon which permanent or removable teeth can be secured to match existing natural teeth.

Tooth implants offer many benefits, including:

* Greater comfort – Tooth Implants can help avoid discomfort of fixing and removing dentures.

Easy chewing and eating food. Dentures don’t always fit 100%. They can become uncomfortable as they wear out and the chance of them falling out are quite high. With Tooth Implants this issue is eliminated.

Better oral health – Tooth Implants do not require any additional teeth to be changed or altered. This means that natural teeth don’t suffer and improves dental hygiene over the long term.

Enhancement in appearance Because teeth Implants join with the jawbone, they’re permanent and feel exactly like natural teeth.

Speech Improvement Speech Improvement Implants do not slip which means you can talk more effectively.

* Greater confidence and self-esteem A smile that is positive brings back confidence and a spring in the step.

Convenience Convenience dentures should be cleaned and removed each day; however, Tooth Implants do not require this.

* Durability – Dental plates can last a lifetime when properly cared for and a regular dental check-ups.

Implant Procedure

The majority of Tooth Implants are safe to be carried out at the dentist’s office with local anesthesia. A slightly more complicated procedure might require hospitalization and intravenous sedation. Every Tooth Implant procedure is different due to your preferences and experience, as well as the knowledge of the dental surgeon and the general requirements of the scenario.

Because each step in the procedure needs healing time, it is usually essential to take three steps.

Step 1

This involves placing the dental implant in the gums and then burying it as the root of a tooth would be. This helps in healing and protects the implant from injury. Once the healing process has ended The Tooth Implant can be exposed by removing a portion of the gum. The process of integrating is known as ‘osseointegrate’.

Step 2

The dentist will look at the implant to determine if it has successfully integrated into the gum. Then, he or they will cut through the gum using an abutment (or ‘abutment’). As the area around the gum heals it forms a collar , which allows the dentist to access the implant, while putting in the artificial or prosthetic tooth.

In certain instances, two steps are performed in small increments. It has the advantage of avoiding additional surgical procedures. But, the dentist must decide whether the implant heals properly and be able to fully integrate.

If you complete steps 1 and 2, the interval between them could vary between a few days and several weeks.

Step 3

The final step is to make and fix the prosthetic tooth/ teeth to the integrated Tooth Implants.
